A new civil war in the United States may well begin in Los Angeles—perhaps it already has. And, as always, it will be the poor, the marginalized, and the working class who bear the brunt. Immigrant workers—those who build homes for cheap, harvest the food, and keep the economy running—are once again being turned into scapegoats.
Today, Latin Americans are the new “Jews”—not in faith, but in fate. They are the next target of a dangerous ideology pushed from the highest seat of power. A man whose hate-fueled rhetoric echoes across the nation: The Enemy of Humanity. And yet, he remains in power—thanks to those who chose him, and continue to choose him, despite the devastation he leaves behind.

Los Latinoamericanos en los Estados Unidos, los nuevos judíos de la historia, no por creencias, sino por padecimiento
Una nueva guerra civil en los Estados Unidos bien podría comenzar en Los Ángeles; quizás ya ha comenzado. Y, como siempre, serán los pobres, los marginados y la clase trabajadora quienes padezcan las consecuencias. Los trabajadores inmigrantes —quienes construyen casas baratas, cosechan los alimentos y mantienen la economía en marcha— están siendo convertidos, una vez más, en chivos expiatorios.
Hoy, los latinoamericanos son los nuevos “judíos”, en los Estados Unidos, no por fe, sino por destino. Y, sin embargo, permanece en el poder, gracias a quienes lo eligieron y continúan eligiéndolo, a pesar de la devastación que produce.
